LÀ LÁ Bakeshop invites you to discover flavours inspired by our memories of Southeast Asia.
We use nostalgic ingredients that will make the kid (and adult) in you smile with joy. Compared to Western desserts, ours are a touch less sweet and balanced with a hint of salt. Distinctive ingredients we use include salted egg yolk, durian, and pork floss.

LÀ LÁ Bakeshop is a story of friends building a dream: A modern Vietnamese bakery that offers innovative desserts and genuinely friendly service.
In Vietnamese, “là lá” means “it’s a leaf.” That’s why our logo is the golden gingko, a tree that originates in Asia and has migrated to North America — a metaphor for our products, our team, and our vision.
We started out in 2020 as a fledgling online business serving the Vietnamese diaspora in Ontario, Canada. In 2021 we listened to the encouragement of our friends, family and loyal customers to open our first brick-and-mortar bakery in downtown Toronto!
In Winter 2022 we opened our second store located at the popular Sky City Shopping Centre in Scarborough, just uptown. Then in Winter 2023 we opened within the Oceans Fresh Food Market in Mississauga.

We understand many folks have dietary restrictions. We list several potential ones here. If you need more info, please get in touch at info@lalabakeshop.ca.
Meat: Several buns and roll cakes contain pork.
Gelatin: Most products do not contain gelatin.
Dairy: Most products contain dairy, including our baked items that use milk bread recipes.
Gluten: Our breads and cakes use wheat flour.
Nuts: We are not a nut-free facility. While most products do not contain nuts, staff are allowed to bring lunches that contain nuts. This means there is a risk for cross-contamination.
Raw eggs: Many products contain raw eggs in the form of glazes or sauces. Our yogurt and drinks do not.
